Unless you order Katz or go to all the way to LA. Tommy Pastrami is the best around. I've gone twice, I would recommend eating your food there. The food travels well enough but the bread will go from a perfect toast to soft all wrapped up. Got the Ruben twice, its huge. Sourkraut, Cheese, Dressing, and their house made mustard is a must! Only criticism is their hours, closed on Sunday and only open till 4-5pm. Bummer. As a business they could do so much better in a more desirable location. Wish there were more locations, the world needs more real Delicatessens!

I'm a big fan of The Hat, so trying a new pastrami place, it's hard to not compare. We were very impressed! Excellent pastrami, the food hit the spot and was juicy, tender, and flavorful. We also enjoyed the pickles and brownies, was all around A+ on the food! Another worthy note was now friendly the staff was, didn't seem fake friendly like they were doing it because they had to, it felt like you walked into a place where they knew you and were welcoming you back again even though it was our first time. We'll be back!

Yo, Flavor Budz! So, I was craving a pastrami sandwich, right? And I found this place on Yelp that's only 5 minutes from my job. I was stoked! When I got there, there was no line but a ton of pick-up orders. I'll definitely order ahead next time. This young man named Ivan took my order, and he was super chill. He answered all my questions patiently. I went with the half pastrami sandwich and onion rings. They didn't skimp on the portions or the presentation either. The best part? The pastrami and onion rings weren't greasy at all. The bread wasn't soggy, and the onion rings were crispy. My first time, there was a breeze, and everyone was super friendly. Shoutout to the cook in the back who hooked it up and to Ivan, who was a pleasure to chat with! I'll be back to try the grilled cheese for sure! See ya!

Came back for round 2! I ordered the full Pastrami sandwich, but this time on grilled rye and melted cheese! It's much better than the French roll! Great service and fast! I had to tell a few people how great the sandwich was!

Let me start off with how freaking good the food is! I got the Tommy Special (pastrami on rye with coleslaw and cheese) and it was the best decision I've made this week. Add in some mustard and their Russian sauce, *Chefs Kiss* and the chili, heaven. The melted cheese, pastrami bits, ugh the best thing ever. The service was great, everyone was super friendly, the place is cute, and clean. The bathrooms are very clean for being public restrooms. I'm looking forward to coming back again and trying something else on the menu

Man, I can't believe it's been 13 years since my last review of Tommy's. And guess what, it is still the same delicious place that I remembered. I had to meet a vendor for a project and I was supposed to pick somewhere in between SGV and Irvine. Well this was way closer to him but coming to Tommy's made it "tolerable" to come out this way. Right away we commented on how awesome BJ was. She would call drum roll as she called out numbers [for pickup]. When there was a line to order she would come out and clean and ask how everything was. Made some suggestions as we noticed there was new items on the menu. It was hot otherwise, I hope the next cold day I get to try the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The vendor and I decided to split two Rubens. I ordered the corned beef and he ordered the pastrami Ruben and we split it along with an order of fries. I still had enough to take some home and my wife was really grateful. My coworker, that was going to meet us tried the Tommy Special. I have had that one too and I know that is a great sandwich as well. Normally I love to put a ton of the spicy mustard on my sandwich but I think the Russian dressing was much better with the Ruben.

"Tommy Pastrami" occupies a corner unit in a business park. It appears that they are replacing their old signage. The current banner offers good visibility from the street. On this visit, I ordered the "one half a la carte pastrami" sandwich on a French roll ($12.50) and a 24oz fountain drink ($3.25). With tax ($1.45), my ticket was $17.20. When you order pastrami, a lot of places serve you steamed, shaved pastrami served on a roll. (That's why I ordered my sandwich on a roll. Rye, wheat and white bread are also options.) Here, they grill the pastrami. As a result, it has a heavier, beefier flavor. For some, it may feel a bit greasier. But it is an alternative style of preparation, and as a change of pace, I liked it. This store is a franchise, and this was my first interaction with the brand. They have other deli type sandwiches--brisket, corned beef, etc. It is a good option if you like sandwiches where meat is featured prominently.
